Anastasiia

Ukranian psycologist in The Netherlands

My mission is simple: to explore and honor the human experience. Through my psychological practice, I provide a safe, empathetic space for individuals to heal, grow, and understand their minds. Fueled by my own creative passion, I also founded The Theater of the Psychologist, empowering people to build everyday confidence and conquer public speaking.

About Me

Anastasiia Pylypenko profile picture

I work with people who want more out of therapy than just a temporary moment of relief. I help you truly tune into yourself and redirect your energy to create a life you actually enjoy.

I use a flexible, creative approach, weaving together theater games (psychodrama), body-centered practices, art therapy, and Gestalt elements. Because emotions live in the body, I help you listen to your physical responses. This allows you to bypass the logical “correct” answers and tap into your real desires.

Across 7+ years of practice, I have helped clients navigate the most vital areas of life:

  • Identity & Self-Worth: Stripping away external expectations to define your true values. Overcoming the need for perfection, stopping constant self-criticism, and learning to trust your own choices.
  • Happiness & Inner Peace: Breaking the cycle of anxiety, chronic stress, and burnout. Moving past overthinking, managing the pressure of constant "shoulds," and shifting from pretending to be happy to genuinely feeling it.
  • Relationships & Boundaries: Learning how to say "no" without guilt, breaking unhealthy relationship patterns, and expressing your needs clearly. Finding the balance between losing yourself in others and isolating yourself.
  • Belonging & Transitions: Navigating major life changes—like career shifts, relationship endings, or moving to a new country (migration)—and finding your footing when everything around you feels unfamiliar.

  • You won't find generic formulas here. My goal is to help you reclaim your inner resources so you can stop just "holding it together" and start living fully. Here are a few techniques I specialize in:
    • EMDR
    • CBT
    • Psychodrama
    • Art Therapy
    • Positive Psycotherapy
    • Body Oriented Therapy

    Who I Work With

    I work with adults, individually

    You are thoughtful, capable, and driven. You have already achieved a lot, but you rarely stop to see how far you’ve come. Instead of recognizing your progress, you often minimize your achievements, your effort, and everything you’ve overcome. Deep inside, there is often a voice saying:

    • I’m not good enough.
    • I’m not smart enough.
    • I’m not confident enough.
    • I’m not worthy enough.

    You keep moving from one goal to the next, always thinking about what comes next, and rarely giving yourself credit for where you are today.

    You deserve to pause and say:

    “I’ve done a lot. I’m proud of how far I’ve come.”

    I work with people who:

    • feel that something isn’t quite right, even if they can’t explain it;
    • put constant pressure on themselves to do more and be better;
    • want to express themselves but hold back because they fear being judged;
    • realize they have been living by other people’s expectations and want to reconnect with what they truly want;
    • are used to carrying everything alone and have forgotten how to care for themselves.

    I’m here to help you reconnect with yourself— to remember who you are, to understand what you truly want, and to build a life where you don’t have to lose yourself to keep moving forward.

    What my clients say

    “I put off starting therapy for a long time because I thought I had to handle everything on my own. Now, my only regret is not starting sooner.” — Olha

    “After just a few sessions, I noticed I had stopped constantly replaying anxious thoughts in my mind. I felt so much calmer.” — Anna

    “The most valuable part for me was knowing I could be myself with you—without fear of being judged or criticized.” — Anastasiia

    “I learned to say ‘no’ without feeling overwhelming guilt. Yes, some people drifted away, but I can finally breathe freely.” — Alyona

    “I realized I had been my own harshest critic. I’ve developed much more self-acceptance and self-respect.” — Maksym

    “I came to therapy hoping to reduce my anxiety, but instead I discovered an inner strength that had been hiding behind my worries. It turned out to be even more profound than I expected.” — Oksana

    “Through therapy, I started making decisions based on what I truly wanted, instead of living by other people’s expectations.” — Serhii

    Experience

    I have been working as a psychologist since 2018. Over the years, I have combined private practice with experience in the Dutch healthcare system, allowing me to integrate a personalized approach with modern, evidence-based psychological care.

    I work with adults experiencing anxiety, stress, the effects of psychological trauma, low self-esteem, emotional burnout, relationship difficulties, and major life transitions.

    Private Practice

    Since 2018, I have provided individual psychological counseling for adults in Ukraine, the Netherlands, and online. I support clients in developing a deeper understanding of themselves, overcoming anxiety, strengthening self-esteem, working through fears and inner conflicts, and building healthier relationships with themselves and others.

    I am also the creator and facilitator of The Psychologist’s Theatre, a therapeutic project that combines creative methods with psychological practice to foster emotional awareness, personal growth, and self-exploration.

    Experience in the Dutch Healthcare System

    I have experience providing psychological counseling to adults within primary healthcare and municipal mental health services in the Netherlands. My work has included supporting individuals experiencing anxiety, the effects of psychological trauma, adjustment difficulties, stress, and other emotional challenges.

    In my practice, I use evidence-based approaches, including EMDR and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive psychological support.

    Education

    I believe that a psychologist’s professional development does not end with earning a degree. That is why I continuously expand my knowledge through advanced training, professional specialization, and ongoing education to provide evidence-based, high-quality psychological care.

    Workshops

    I’m the founder of The Psychologist’s Theatre—a space for workshops created for Ukrainians in the Netherlands. Here, I combine psychology with acting to help people feel more confident, express themselves more freely, and become more comfortable both in everyday life and during public speaking. Through creativity, play, and shared experiences, everyone finds something different: self-discovery, relaxation, confidence, genuine connection, and new friendships. For me, this is also a place of inspiration and energy. I’d love to welcome you to one of our workshops. Send me a message to find out when the next workshop takes place.
